Message from the Chairman:
My Dear e-Jadavpurians,
The ETCE dept. of JU is a leading dept. in India imparting high quality engineering education to ranked students. The excellence of the dept. is reflected from the employment profile of final year students and also from the research projects attracted from the national level funding agencies. Our ex-students are now well placed in various industrial, R&D and academic sectors in India and abroad. We have formed a non-profit making body, the MWADETEJU (pending registration) to bridge the activities beween the present and past keeping the future welfare and growth aspects in mind. Some of the objectives of the MWADETEJU, to start with, are:
Our dept. has no space provision at present where the dept. can expand. We do not have a good seminar hall, neither a visitor's/ex-teacher's sitting lounge nor any more R&D lab space for newer projects that are coming on. We plan to approach the University to allocate some lan or roof space where such expansion could be made, but we should note that the major funding would have to be accumulated by us, the e-Jadavpurians (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering alumnus of JU). Our library needs to be thoroughly updated, both in physical size and with more number of quality books and journals, etc. together with a xerox facility. This is also an agenda for us but again this effort would need funding.
May I, therefore, appeal to you all to stand by us by whatever means you can, on our efforts towards the welfare of our department.
